Warehouse Management System (WMS)
THE FLEXIBLE, SCALABLE SOLUTION FOR REAL-TIME INVENTORY ACCURACY IN MANUAL, SEMI-AUTOMATED, AND AUTOMATED APPLICATIONS
Scalable WMS Grows With You
Daifuku’s Automated Inventory Management System (AIMS) is a powerful WMS that can seamlessly adapt to changes in your operations with full system compatibility. It is fully scalable to control everything from strictly manual to semi-automated and automated operations. Simply add modules as needed to expand the capabilities of your system.
Accurate, Real-time Control
AIMS gives you virtually 100% inventory accuracy with real-time control. Workers don’t have to search for inventory, cutting order pick times by 50 to 100%. So your customers get what they want, when they want it. What’s more, because you know what you have and where you have it, you can reduce inventory levels and their related costs by 15 to 20%.
Flexibility Without Custom Software
AIMS gives you the flexibility to configure a variety of warehousing and distribution features and adapt to changes in your operations. You can define your own warehouses and zones, as well as locations for storage, shipping, receiving, and production. AIMS features more than 200 user-configurable parameter settings that allow you to design the system for your operation without customizing the software.
Rapid Implementation
Because AIMS uses proven, off-the-shelf modules, it can be up and running quickly. You can use the standard AIMS interface with your existing host system or use it as a stand-alone system.
Proven and Cost-effective
AIMS is backed by the proven material control expertise of Daifuku, with installations in a variety of industries worldwide. It gives you the critical information needed to take control of your inventory. You’ll improve efficiency, increase productivity, and lower costs. All of which add up to higher profits.
Features
Receiving
AIMS begins tracking items as soon as they are identified by an expected receipt message or by recording their delivery at the receiving dock. AIMS also supports cross-docking, sending short-order materials directly to shipping.
Putaway
Once items are received, AIMS tells workers where to store items or directs random storage in automated systems such as mini load/unit load buffers or carousels.
Ordering
Orders can be entered into AIMS or downloaded from the host. AIMS allows multiple line items per order and adjusts to changes in order priority, including rush/emergency orders.
Cycle Count Inventory
Cycle count processes ensure accurate inventory records, reducing or eliminating the need for costly physical inventories. Counts can be ordered for a specific item, by item and lot, or for all items in a specified range of locations.
Picking
AIMS gives you the flexibility to pick from conventional rack and shelving using RF, from pick-to-light systems, or from automated storage buffers. It allows wave picking and can direct multiple workers to pick portions of the same order for maximum efficiency. Confirm-pick scanning ensures accuracy.
Consolidation and Shipping
AIMS supports efficient order staging and consolidation. It allocates orders by route, customer, or other attribute, allowing multiple truckloads to be picked at the same time. The system can also direct automated conveyor and sortation systems for greater speed and efficiency.
Inventory Maintenance
AIMS provides real-time information on item levels, order status, operator activity, and more. AIMS can also direct automated replenishment of items when inventory drops below a specific level.
Kitting and Production Locations
AIMS can track and process kit lists, directing component parts for delivery to assembly line or shipping dock locations. The system automatically converts component quantities into the appropriate parent quantities.
Bar Code Label Generation
AIMS uses leading third-party bar code label software for printing labels during receiving or picking. You can design your own shipping labels while ensuring compliance to industry standards such as UCC 128.
Teamwork and Productivity
AIMS directs operations based on priority and worker location, making individual and team assignments. The system also provides a complete range of reports to set and maintain productivity standards.
